🎧 JLab Go Air POP — Pocket-Sized Powerhouses?

I needed a pair of wireless earbuds but didn’t feel like spending a lot of money. I came across the JLab Go Air POP and honestly… I wasn’t expecting much because I had such bad experiences with "cheap" earbuds in the past. I figured the sound would be just okay, which was fine because I mainly wanted them as a backup for when my AirPods die or for connecting to devices I don’t use that often.

After actually using them in everyday life — running errands, working, Zoom calls, even falling asleep with them in — I was kind of surprised they held up so well.

These are small, true wireless earbuds that are affordable and easy to use. Nothing fancy, but they cover the basics really well.

A few things worth knowing:

  • The battery life is really good. I’ve used them for hours (including accidentally falling asleep with them), and when I put them back in, the battery is usually still sitting at “medium.”

  • They connect automatically and pretty quickly.

  • Touch controls are built in, so you don’t need to grab your phone all the time.

  • They come with different gel tip sizes, which helps with fit.

  • No noise canceling — you’ll still hear what’s going on around you.

  • They’re water-resistant enough for light sweat or drizzle.

  • You can switch between sound modes (balanced, bass boost, etc.) without an app.

  • The case is super lightweight and even has a built-in USB charging cable, which is honestly convenient.

Pretty much everything I expected from budget earbuds.

✅ What I Like
  • Battery life is way better than I expected for the price

  • They’re light and easy to throw in a bag

  • Sound is actually pretty good once you adjust the EQ

  • Fine for walks, errands, and light workouts

  • Touch controls make skipping tracks or adjusting volume easy

  • You can use one earbud without an issue

⚠️ A Few Downsides
  • No noise canceling, so loud environments are still loud

  • Call quality is okay, but not amazing

  • Touch controls can be a little sensitive sometimes so if you try to adjust them in your ears, you can inadvertently turn the volume up/down.

  • Not ideal for super noisy places

I’ve used these at home, on Zoom calls, while walking outside, and during light exercise.

  • At home / casual listening: Totally fine. Clear sound, and the EQ settings help depending on what I’m listening to.

  • Calls / work: They’re good in quiet spaces. Once there’s background noise, my voice doesn’t come through as clearly.

  • Walking / light movement: They stay in place well enough for errands and casual walks.

  • Battery life: This is where they really shine. I can use them all day and still have battery left.

The JLab Go Air POP earbuds surprised me. They’re not perfect, and they’re definitely not meant to replace high-end earbuds — but for the price, they do what they’re supposed to do and then some. Good sound, great battery life, and easy, no-stress use.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly pair of wireless earbuds for everyday use or a reliable backup, these are honestly a really good option.
